My Darling Daughter
my darling daughter, Oh how you delight my eyes! what joy i feel when i see your eyes light up in laughter. when you rode your bicycle alone for the first time, or when you trusted your first friend. i created the tulips for you, the colors to satisfy your craving for beauty. the scent to calm you on a hot summers eve. a garden of lilacs and rose petals. an eden to explore and express your passion. the sweet, soft grass will embrace you like a hammock.
your face has 13 freckles - i took joy at each one when i painted them on you. with the subtly of a painter's brush on an empty canvas, i swirled and jotted. i know how you feel about them, covering them up. but querida your beauty outshines what you alone see.
the plans i have for you, only i know. i see your desires, hopes and dreams cherie, and i cherish each one. sometimes you are blind and cannot see - and in those times i must lead you in the right direction. you fight and struggle, but cannot see the waterfall i have waiting for you beyond the tangled web of branches.
when you lie there at night and feel alone, dwelling in the brokenness of your heart my heart swells. as the wind passes through the forest and drifts softly through the garden, it wraps around you saying, "i love you."
love, your papa daddy
psalm 139: 13-15 "For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb. I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well. My frame was not hidden from you, when I was being made in secret, intricately woven in the depths of the earth"
